Mother Mars
A representation of mother nature on Mars, with the rock that will become ALH8001 in the foreground.
You can read more about it on the entry on my blog,
The Flying Trilobite
.
Oil on canvas, about 2.5'x4'.

Very nice! Mother Mars has a very haunting look to her, and I like the symbolism of the dying organism in front of her. Great choice of colors, too.

Thanks! The dying organism contains the magnetite chains thought to be possible evidence of life in ALH8001.

Why, thank you Ms. Jacqueline!
I think this painting began my love affair with quinacrodone burnt orange by Grumbacher.
